Expert: Yandex to open office in Turkey to support migrated staff

MOSCOW, Mar 20 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex will open an office in Turkey, where it was closed in 2020, to support the employees who migrated there, Mobile Research Group leading analyst Eldar Murtazin told PRIME on Monday.

“Yandex has many employees who went to Turkey, and they are opening a new hub for them. The company is interested in keeping these employees, it is the company’s chief motivation,” Murtazin said.

Media reported in February that Yandex is opening an office in Istanbul in March. The company said it would be for the teams who need to stay in the country to develop services locally.

Yandex did not disclose the exact day of opening of the office, but said its plans stay in force.
